Book 3 for ages 10 - 12 years:
Learning activities focus on food labelling, food additives, component parts of household items, flow charts, hazardous chemicals and the properties of common materials. Students will use their knowledge of material properties to explain why materials are used for certain items. Specific science skills will be enhanced through these activities including predicting, testing, collating information, writing observations, making assessments of the properties of materials, and using this knowledge for reporting.
