5 February 2025Few things we noticed: -internet links don't necessarily work and are painful to type into the browser (it's likely the youtube videos being referred to no longer exist or have been deleted or relocated) -the binary lesson right near the start needs fixing up: The blurb explaining binary is poorly written, children cannot understand and I had to go and figure it out myself. Then, they state '111 = 7' from their explanation. Only to later say 'Answers for page 21: 111 = 1+3+7 = 11' so which is it, does 111 = 7 or 11? 7, which you can learn from free online binary videos by tech guys who know what they're talking about and how to teach it. -the binary lesson has a myriad of errors on page 20 also: '512 bytes = Answer: 4 kilobytes' wrong. It is exactly half a kilobyte. Thankfully I checked the work myself and didn't rely on the book answers. I'm a bit hesitant to use it for digi tech now. The government website DigiHub may be sufficient for teachers, is up to date and has interactive hands-on learning for free.
