Gregory Blaxland (1778-1853), William Lawson (1774-1850) and William Wentworth (1790-1872) were English pioneer farmers, graziers and explorers who led the first successful expedition to cross the Blue Mountains and establish Australia's first inland colony in 1813 to enable farmers to use the land for grazing. The three explorers are remembered through the naming of various townships, suburbs and electoral divisions.
