The books in this series are designed to provide teachers of gifted children in the 9+ age range with a multimedia based set of resources that will inform, challenge and extend. The activities are structured to provide materials that are relevant to the needs and abilities of gifted students. This appropriate curriculum approach is achieved through the use of Content Levels: Finding Out; Information Using; and Creating/Evaluating. The series utilises a three-pronged approach:
- Alternet CD-ROM - a database of information and additional resources;
- Research using traditional print related materials; and
- Internet research providing a stimulating learning environment for students.
Though the books are written for teachers working with gifted students who are withdrawn from the regular classroom, they can also be used within the classroom as a whole class or individual activity.
Book 2: Mammals
Explores the features and classification of common mammals and also has sections on aquatic, endangered and unique mammals.
