Achieve! History – World War II Book 1 will assist teachers to implement the Australian Curriculum for year 10. Historical and literacy skills are developed through interpreting photographs and secondary sources, locating and categorising information and studying the impact of the wartime experience.
Achieve! History – World War II Book 1 looks at the causes of the war, explores main events and studies the effect of the war on Australia. Content includes the Treaty of Versailles, the rise of the Nazi Party and the Holocaust. Different perspectives about Australia’s involvement in the war are studied, along with the experiences of those on the home front, including the role of women, the introduction of rationing, conscription, censorship and the response to the threat of a Japanese invasion.
Each book includes a CD-ROM that contains all the pages of the book and illustrations files in editable formats. These files can be amended to suit the specific needs of your students.
